Crit Day

Leading up to today I was quite worried about the final criticism because I felt like I'd fell slightly behind in the development of my project due to ongoing work from Project U. However after recognising this, I worked extremely hard to complete the construction and shooting of my final outcome today. I think this hard work payed off because when setting up for the crit I felt really proud of my outcome, sketchbook and overall presentation of my work. I really enjoyed the performance element of this brief and I think this definitely contributed my success in this project. Part of the brief was also that our outcome had to large scale and 3D which was definitely out of my comfort zone. I think this challenge to work on a larger scale than I normally do was really valuable because it meant I had to explore using new materials like balloons and wire, and I was much more experimental in my work. The parts of this project that I would like to improve are my design development series as I don't think my sketchbook fully represents my process, and also the film showing the performance aspect of my final outcome. I would've liked to film this in a different location to fully capture the mood of the project, but this was not possible due to the materials that I used, as I spray painted the balloons and the pressure meant they deflated very quickly.
